Troop News and Updates – December 2023

Hello, Scouts and families! We have some exciting news and events to share with you. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Tree sales are almost over! Thanks to your hard work and dedication, we have sold most of our trees and are hoping to finish this weekend. We still need some volunteers for Sunday, so please sign up if you can. If we sell out, we will break down the lot at Sunday’s Troop Meeting at 3 pm. This is a big task, so we need everyone’s help. Please come and bring your families if possible!
  • We are moving back to the Church on Tuesdays. Starting from next week, we will resume our regular meetings at the Church on Tuesday nights. However, next Tuesday (the 12th) is a PLC Meeting, so only the Patrol Leaders and the Senior Patrol Leader should attend. The rest of the Scouts can help prepare snacks for the Boise Bike Project giveaway, which is a service project we are doing on the following weekend.
  • There is a Merit Badge Clinic in Middleton next month. This is a great opportunity to earn some Merit Badges, especially the ones that are required for Eagle Scout rank. You can choose from a variety of subjects and take up to four classes for only $5. The clinic will be held on two Saturdays: January 6 and January 13. You can attend one or both days. Please contact me if you have any questions or need help registering. See email for flyer. Don’t miss this chance to advance your Scouting skills and knowledge!
  • Our last Troop Meeting of 2023 will be a holiday party. Please bring some snacks to share and join us for some fun and games. We will also announce the winners of the “Best Meetings for Quarter 4 of 2023” award. Congratulations to all the Patrols who participated and did a great job! There will also be a Parent Meeting at 7 pm that evening, so please stay and join us for some important updates and discussions.

That’s all for now. Thank you for being part of our Troop and making it a wonderful place to learn and grow. We hope to see you soon at our upcoming events and activities. Happy holidays and happy Scouting!
