Troop’s Eclipse Drone Video & Photos

The troop was able to record the eclipse from the drone. Launched above the trees just before totality, the video shows dramatic lighting changes to landscape to the west. We were less than 5 miles from the center totality line, in the mountains north High Valley Idaho. The campout was a blast with the day before flying the drone, plant identification activity, games, wonderful food, worked on the BSA eclipse award, and ended the event with eclipse 2017.

Upcoming Events in November, December, and Next Year

November has a number of events. Scouting for Food, Leadership Training, Tree Lot Set-up, Tree unloading, and Tree Sales. The newsletter, Google calendar, and Scoutbook.com has further details. December Annual planning meeting has been moved to December 13th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The annual pinewood derby race follows the meeting. See Scoutbook.com for race details. Next years calendar is beginning to be filled in from summer camps and Court of Honors. Please look over the possible dates of events. At the annual planning meeting, bring your ideas, any needed changes, and personal calendars to finish up the schedule Some upcoming adventures include: Winter campout January Family winter campout February 18-20th Spring Break March 27 to 31 adventure Willow Creek 2017 in August Camp Wilson in May Camp Meriwether July 1st to July 8th (summer camp) Backpacking August 3rd to 7th This is just a few of the many upcoming monthly activities! Scouting Food Flyer Distribution – UPDATE!

Scouting for Food flyer distribution will occur on Sunday November 6th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm and Tuesday November 8th from 4 to 6 pm (instead of a meeting). Meet at the corner of Shenandoah Dr and E Mortimer Dr. Families welcomed to join us. This will be an afternoon of walking the surrounding neighborhood and dropping off the flyer. Pack 33 will be picking up the donations on the following Saturday.
